Benjamin was born March 2012 and Micah was born September 2013. We moved to Colorado between Christmas and New Years, starting off 2014 in CO. Micah was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease in December 2014. Maelyn was prenatally diagnosed in January 2015 with Double Inlet Left Ventricle and Dextrocardia. Maelyn was born May 2015.
In 2017 a series of events, including finding out we were pregnant, led us to move back to Pennsylvania. We moved over the summer and Nora was born in October 2017.
Tim is an amazing husband, daddy and oh yeah an engineer. Even though it is no longer in his job title, he's always been an engineer, it's in his blood. He thoroughly enjoys taking things apart and putting things back together. We moved to CO for him to pursue his career. Tim also enjoys playing his guitar and banjo and being part of a worship band at church. He likes to cook, which I try to let him do whenever he has time! He likes to hardcore camp (my words, not his) but has not been able to since we had kids. I am looking forward to the kids getting old enough for Tim to take them away to the wilderness for a weekend and leave me home!
I'm a stay at home mommy. Before the kids took all my time I was in the social work world. I've had several different jobs over the years; adoption worker for a Christian foster care agency, toddler day care teacher, and case manager for adults with severe mental illness. Tim always tells me I need hobbies, so I have to try to make time for them. I enjoy knitting, painting, crafting, and (simple) scrap booking. I'm trying to get into yoga but mostly I just enjoy eating ice cream and watching netflix.
Benjamin is so much like his daddy. He is not your typical little boy, he is so special. He is so kind, smart and compassionate. His is the most helpful, kind and patient big brother. He loves his family and his friends and his neighbors and everyone and everything (< his words!). He can't get enough of math and science. He has a great imagination and loves to write and create new games.
Micah is thoughtful, creative, and sweet. He gives the best hugs and loves to snuggle. He has the best belly laugh and giggle and probably the best scream and cry. He can go from laughing to crying in a split second. He loves playing with everyone, especially his siblings. He is very creative, he loves to paint and play playdoh. He also loves trains and trucks and anything mechanical! He is more adventurous than his brother but they make a great team. Micah says loves his bluebear and mommy equally, he can not choose. But he also can't sleep without his brother in the room with him.
Maelyn is our miracle baby. At our 20 week ultrasound we were told she was not going to live. After several tests, ultrasounds and specialist visits, we were told she had a good chance of surviving but with her heart condition she has a long road ahead of her. It was a long pregnancy of waiting to see how she was going to do but she proved to be a strong fighter. She came 2 weeks early and you would not know anything is wrong with her. She has proved to be a "best case scenario" for her diagnosis, thanks be to God. Her name means beautiful angel warrior of new life and she epitomizes it. She is strong willed, fearless, and determined but she is also gentle and loving and fun. She wants to be the mommy, she wants to be in charge! The boys did not prepare me for her! She keeps me on my toes.
